— 01 — Is this you?
It’s not the pain.
It’s the pattern.
Most people I meet aren’t in crisis. They’re stuck in a loop that has been running for months, sometimes years. See how many of these you recognise.
| o It flares up, settles down with rest, then comes back a few months later. | o You’ve seen a physio or osteopath, felt better, been discharged — and slipped back within weeks. |
| * You brace before you bend, or think about how you’re going to get out of a chair. | o You’ve quietly stopped doing something you loved — golf, tennis, gardening, picking up your children or grandchildren. |
| o You’re no longer sure what’s safe, so you do less and less — and feel stiffer for it. | o Your scan came back “nothing significant”, but the pain is real and nobody has told you what to actually do about it. |
That’s the pattern I work with most. Not a crisis — a slow erosion of what you can do, until the list of things you avoid gets longer than the list of things you enjoy.
— 02 — Why it keeps returning
Pain settles.
Capacity doesn’t.
Treatment is very good at getting you out of pain. It is much less good at rebuilding the strength that stopped the pain arriving in the first place.
Pain goes before strength returns
You feel better weeks before the tissue has regained the capacity it lost. Discharge often happens at exactly the wrong moment — when you feel fine but aren’t yet robust.
Fear quietly shrinks your world
When something hurts, you avoid it. Avoid it long enough and it becomes the thing you’re afraid of. That’s not weakness — it’s how human beings are built. But it has to be undone deliberately.
Nobody is watching the progression
Strength comes from gradual, measured increases over months. That needs someone adjusting the load week by week. It is the part that gets skipped, and it’s the part that makes the difference.
— 03 — What actually happens
Session one is
not a workout.
If you’re nervous about walking into a gym, that’s exactly why nothing here is a surprise. This is the whole process, start to finish.
01
We talk first — free, 30 minutes
Your history: what hurts, what makes it better, what makes it worse, what you’ve already tried and what you want back. You can do this on the phone, on video, or in the studio. It costs nothing and there’s no pressure to book.
02
We test what you can tolerate
A functional movement assessment — not to hunt for a mythical “weak link”, but to find out what your body currently handles well and where it stops. You’ll understand your own back better at the end of it than you do now.
03
We start, carefully, on the day
Gentle, specific work in the first session — so you leave knowing what “safe” actually feels like. For most people that’s the first time in months they’ve moved without bracing.
04
You leave with a plan you can follow
What to do between sessions, scaled to the time you actually have — written down and tracked, so it isn’t lost on a piece of paper. We review it every week and adjust as you improve.
FREE
The 30-minute consultation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If it turns out I’m not the right person for your situation, I’ll tell you and point you somewhere better suited.

No audience. No waiting for equipment.
Sessions take place in a private studio in Knaphill, not a busy commercial gym. For someone who has spent months avoiding gyms because they were worried about how they’d look or what might happen, that matters more than any piece of equipment.
- Private studio — one-to-one, nobody watching
- Free onsite parking, two minutes from Knaphill high street
- Accessible by bus from Woking, St John’s and Goldsworth Park
— 04 — For Physios, Osteopaths & GPs
When physio ends,
the work begins.
Physiotherapists and osteopaths diagnose and treat. I handle the months that follow — the supervised strengthening that makes the result stick.

What I do, and what I don’t
I don’t diagnose
If you haven’t been assessed and your pain is new, severe, or comes with numbness, weakness, or changes to bladder or bowel function, see a GP or physio first. That is not a sales deflection — it’s the right order of things
I don’t promise a cure.
I can tell you what is realistic for your situation, and what isn’t
I do report back.
With your permission, I’ll keep your physio or GP informed of progress, so everyone is working from the same picture
I do work with long-term conditions
— arthritis, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s. I hold a Level 3 in Exercise Referral for exactly this.

“I came to Sanchez with a torn Achilles that had plagued me with a lot of pain for over two years. Thanks to his care and support I sailed through rehab, and I can’t thank him enough.”
“Exercising is very important to me as I have Young Onset Parkinson’s. Sanchez is one of those amazing people who have the ability to motivate, and I noticed immediately that he was winning my trust and encouraging me to put in the extra effort.”
“Have been going for nearly a year, and Sanchez has covered everything from initial rehab and recovery from injury and surgery through to vastly improving my fitness and strength. Feel much better in myself, can see the progress made and really look forward to my training each week.”
“Sanchez was absolutely brilliant in my recovery from lower back problems. He helped get my core strength to regain support and then helped me bulk up with some muscle and get fitter with some PT training. 100% use this man! He has a great personality and makes sessions enjoyable.”
— 06 — Where it goes
Rehab is where
we start.
It is rarely where people finish. Once your back is no longer running your life, most clients carry on — and that is where the real change happens.
Stage One
Get out of pain
Calm things down, find out what you can tolerate, and learn what "safe" feels like again. This is the part that most people are searching for.
Weeks 1–6 · Rehabilitation sessions
Stage Two
Build the capacity back
This is the stage that gets skipped everywhere else. Progressive loading, week by week, until the thing that used to hurt is simply a movement you do.
Months 2–3 · Rehab into strength work
Stage Three
Get on with your life
Ongoing training — back to golf, tennis, the gym, or simply being strong enough that this doesn't come back. Many clients stay here for years.
Month 4 onwards · Personal training & S&C
You don't have to decide now.
Plenty of people come for six weeks of rehab and stop there, which is completely fine. But if you want to keep going, the same coaching carries straight through into personal training — the back work simply becomes part of a broader programme. It's the same studio, the same person, and no re-explaining your history.

— 08 —Questions
Before you
get in touch.
The things people ask me most, before their first session.
Do I need a diagnosis before I start?
No. But if your pain is new, severe, or comes with numbness, weakness or changes to your bladder or bowel, see a GP or physio first — that needs a clinician, not a trainer. If you've been assessed and cleared for exercise, I can start working with you straight away.
What if I'm in a lot of pain right now?
Tell me when you enquire and we'll work around it. The first session can be assessment and gentle movement only. Nothing is compulsory, and we stop if something doesn't feel right.
How long until I notice a difference?
Most people notice they're moving more confidently within three to four weeks. Rebuilding real strength takes longer — typically two to three months of consistent work. Anyone promising you a fortnight is selling you something.
Will I have to do things that hurt?
No. Some discomfort after training is normal. Sharp pain during an exercise means we change the exercise — not that you should push through it. You'll never be asked to do something you're not comfortable with.
Can I keep seeing my physio?
Yes, and I'd encourage it. Physios diagnose and treat; I handle the supervised strengthening afterwards. With your permission I'm happy to report back to your physio or osteopath so everyone is working from the same picture.
Do I need to be a gym person?
Not at all — most of my rehabilitation clients aren't. Sessions take place in a private studio in Knaphill rather than a busy commercial gym, so there's no audience and no waiting for equipment.

Tell me what your back has stopped you doing
I'll tell you honestly whether I can help, what the first few months would look like, and what it would cost. If I'm not the right person, I'll say so.
